Brand Overview
Rhone and Lululemon are both popular, trusted brands, still Lululemon has been around longer and is more established in the market.
Rhone
Rhone is an American brand that offers high-quality men’s activewear. They began with workout shorts and later added Commuter Pants, Notch Tees, polos, and dress shirts.
Their goal is to blend style and performance. They aim to create gym-ready clothing that is suitable for the office, casual events, or travel days. Rhone focuses on practicality, durability, and versatile style.
The brand uses top-quality Japanese fabrics and includes features like four-way stretch, GoldFusion odor control, and gusseted crotches.
They design for men who prefer slim, modern fits that are comfortable. They have different color options, including navy, grey, maroon, and black.
Lululemon
Lululemon is a more established brand producing activewear for both men and women. They have started with the yoga pants for women, but with time and popularity, they expanded their products to gym wear, casual wear and athleisure for both men and women.
This brand is loved for its high-quality products, like using high-quality fabrics, which are perfect for high tense activity. They have different clothes like joggers, tees, slides and many more.
In short, Lululemon is perfect for modern, mainly women for comfort, and casual wear, especially if you are a gym-going person.
Rhone vs Lululemon Pricing
Pricing is the main factor for many, including me, to find which brand to wear. And worry not, if you are American, the cost for both will be similar for you. Like Rhone Commuter Pants and Lululemon Path, both cost the same, around $128. However, prices can differ in other countries, like Canada. There, Rhone pants cost CAD 175, while Lululemon pants are CAD 138.
Overall pricing is comparable for US markets, still, Rhone is slightly cheaper in the same areas.
Materials and Fabrics
Rhone uses high-quality Japanese fabrics that make their products feel lighter, stretchier, and quieter. These fabrics are soft, natural, structured, and breathable.
The key fabrics Rhone used GoldFusion for odor control and gusseted crotches. Lululemon also uses high-quality fabrics like Luon and Luxtreme, but reports say Rhone’s new fabrics last 2.5 times longer than those from Lululemon.
Some of the performance tests have been made, and the Rhone gear is 27% better for mobility, 42% faster at drying moisture, reduces odor by 89%, and recovers stretch by 98%. These numbers suggest that Rhone products perform better (which I didn’t notice for now; let’s see how long this will last).
Products Comparisons – Lululemon vs Rhino
Pants and Joggers
I found the Rhone Commuter Pants very comfortable and strong. They are a good competitor to Lululemon ABC pants. Rhone looks more professional, but I didn’t find them as comfortable as Lululemon ABC, probably because I’ve been using Lululemon for a longer time.
The commuter pants have a good snap button closure, a gusseted crotch, mesh lining, and zipper pockets. They feature tapered legs and come in several fits, including regular, slim, skinny, and jogger.
Shirts & Tees
The Rhone Notch Tee fits a bit larger in the torso and arms for me. While it is breathable, odor-resistant, and looks premium, the larger fit is the only thing I didn’t love. You might like it, though.
On the other hand, Lululemon tees fit perfectly in the torso and arms. They are soft and great for both workouts and casual wear. Both brands have premium features like moisture-wicking and stretch, but I believe Lululemon wins for tees.\
Polos and Outerwear
Rhone’s Delta Pique Tee, Reign Shirts and commuter 1/4 Zip give both comfort and gives professional look. Among these many found the Delta Pique Tee is their fav because of the texture, thickness, and sleeve fit.
Lululemons are also great, but they are more focused on casual style. They are good for gym and casual wear, but for workwear, Rhone wins.
Sizing and Comfort
Rhone has more variation in sizing compared to Lululemon, while offering good stretch.
Rhone is best for men who prefer a modern and trim fit without excessive fabric. It gives you minimal and office looks. But for casual and daily wear, I suggest Lululemon if you don’t love modernity too much.
Both brands are good for providing comfort, and are good for relaxed and everyday wear.
Customer Experience
Rhone provided free shipping on orders over $100, with a 45 days returns policy. Lululemon also offers free shipping in the US without any minimum purchase.
And when talking about experience, many people say that Lululemon items feel worn and one wash (which I haven’t found till now).
In short, for customer experience, both are great, and have free delivery, which makes it easier for you to give them a try.
My Final Verdict on Rhone vs Lululemon
Rhone is perfect if you want smart, structured and office-friendly athleisure. I loved their commuter pants and Moko shorts more.
In fact, this is the first time and first comparative review I found some brands better than Lululemon. You can see my other comparisons like Lululemon vs Fabletics, Alo vs Lululemon, and similar comparison reviews. Many of them are good, but every time I found Lululemon the best. So I will definitely try Rhone more, and you will see more similar Rhone comparisons in the future.
